In 2015, Laurie DeSimone and a group of volunteers founded the Teal Run. Laurie wanted to create a sense of community and fundraise for research to find a cure for ovarian cancer; unfortunately, she passed away shortly after the inaugural run. However, her legacy continues, and the work of The Teal Foundation remains to this day.
This year’s run will be the 9th Annual Teal Run 5k Fun Run/Walk, which will take place on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. The event will be held in Campbell Park, Gilman, and Campbell. The cost to register is $50 for adults and teens and $30 for children under 12 years old.
